England striker Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) has claimed his second career European Golden Shoe.
Bayern Munich announced on the 27th (Korea time) that "Kane has won the European Golden Shoe, awarded to the top scorer across Europe's leagues."
It is Kane's second European Golden Shoe. He first won the award during the 2023-24 season (36 goals in 32 matches), his debut campaign in Germany's Bundesliga after joining Munich. He becomes the third Bayern Munich player to win the European Golden Shoe twice, following Gerd Müller and Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona).
Kane scored a remarkable 61 goals in 51 matches across all competitions during the 2025-26 season. In the Bundesliga alone, he netted 36 goals in 31 matches to claim the league's top scorer title for a third consecutive season.
The European Golden Shoe, awarded by European Sports Media (ESM), is determined by a points system that applies different multipliers to goals based on league strength. Goals scored in the top five leagues — England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France — count for two points each. Goals in leagues ranked 6th through 22nd are worth 1.5 points each, while those in lower-tier leagues count for one point per goal.
Kane's 36 goals translated to 72 points, edging out Manchester City's Erling Haaland, who scored 27 goals (54 points) in the English Premier League. Last season's winner, Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid) of Spain's La Liga, finished third with 25 goals (50 points).
