The KIA Tigers swept their three-game weekend series on the strength of strong performances from their foreign players.
KIA defeated the SSG Landers 3-2 in a 2026 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League game held Sunday at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field, with Adderlin Rodriguez's two-run homer powering the victory. Starter Adam Oller also turned in a standout pitching performance.
Having won their last three games, KIA holds sole possession of fourth place. Oller took the mound as KIA's starter, while SSG sent Shota Takeda to the hill, and the two teams remained deadlocked at 0-0 through four innings. KIA broke through when Na Sung-bum and Rodriguez reached on hits to put runners on first and third with one out, setting up Han Jun-su's RBI single up the middle for the game's first run. In the bottom of the seventh, Na drew a walk before Rodriguez followed with a two-run homer over the left-field wall, extending KIA's lead to 3-0.
Rodriguez homered for the second consecutive day, showcasing his power with seven home runs in 16 games.
In the top of the ninth, SSG cut the deficit to 3-2 as Park Sung-han hit a single up the middle, Jung Jun-jae lined a double down the right-field line, and Guillermo Heredia drove in runs with a single to right. SSG ultimately failed to complete the comeback and suffered its seventh straight loss.
KIA starter Oller silenced the SSG lineup through six innings, recording nine strikeouts. He picked up his sixth win of the season against three losses, holding sole possession of the league lead in wins.
