Wolverhampton Wanderers' Hwang Hee-chan, 30, recorded an attacking point in the team's final home game of the season.
Wolverhampton drew 1-1 with Fulham in their Round 37 home match of the 2025-2026 English Premier League (EPL) at Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton, England, which kicked off on May 17 (Korea time). Wolverhampton, who have already been confirmed for relegation to the Championship (second division) next season, remained at the bottom of the table with 19 points (3 wins, 10 draws, 24 losses).
Hwang started as a left winger and recorded one assist over 79 minutes on the pitch. He set up Matheus Cunha's opening goal in the 25th minute of the first half. Receiving a pass played into the penalty area from the right, Hwang did not try to do too much and laid the ball off to Cunha near the arc, who found the net with a right-footed shot. It was Hwang's second EPL assist and fourth assist in official competitions this season.
With this assist, Hwang registered an attacking point for the first time in about two months since his third goal of the season against Liverpool in the fifth round (round of 16) of the Football Association (FA) Cup on March 7. In the EPL, it was his first attacking point in about four and a half months since recording one goal and one assist against West Ham United on January 4. Hwang has now tallied seven attacking points (three goals and four assists) this season, combining two goals and two assists in the EPL, one goal and one assist in the FA Cup, and one assist in the Carabao Cup, the English Football League (AEFL) Cup competition.
Wolverhampton conceded a penalty kick in first-half stoppage time to give up the draw. Cunha's foul resulted in the penalty, which Antonee Robinson converted. Hwang was substituted off in the 34th minute of the second half. Hwang, who was named to the national team's final roster for the 2026 North American World Cup, is scheduled to join the national squad after playing his final game of the season in an away match against Burnley on May 25.
