The 16th Mediheal KLPGA Chairman's Cup Women's Amateur Golf Championship will be held from Tuesday through Saturday at Solago CC in Taean, South Chungcheong Province. Qualifying rounds will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by three days of the main competition starting Thursday.
The tournament was launched in 2010 to nurture domestic female amateur golfers. Past champions include Park Hyun-kyung, Lee So-young, Jung Ji-hyo, Yoo Hae-ran, Lim Hee-jung and Lee Ga-young.
Mediheal, the global derma cosmetic brand of L&P Cosmetic, has served as a co-host of the tournament since 2024. The company has continued generous support, including covering all participation expenses for junior players, in efforts to develop Korea's female amateur golf talent.
This year also features a range of incentives designed to motivate junior players. The top five finishers in the youth division will be exempted from the KLPGA associate member skills evaluation. The top six in the middle school division will be invited to the Mediheal Youth Mentoring Program in the second half of the year, where they will receive practical lessons during a round with Choi Hye-yong, a two-time KLPGA Tour winner, and training support at the Mediheal Academy. The youth division champion will earn a spot in the Mediheal-Hankook Ilbo Championship on the KLPGA Tour in August.
"We are pleased to create an environment where young players can gain diverse experiences and to provide them with opportunities to grow," Mediheal Chairman Kwon Oh-sub said. "We will continue to spare no active support to broaden the base of Korean golf and develop junior players."
