San Francisco Giants outfielder Lee Jung-hoo recorded a hit in his second consecutive game but went just 1-for-5 as his team fell to defeat.
Lee started as the leadoff hitter and right fielder in the 2026 Major League Baseball (MLB) game against the Athletics at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento, California, on Sunday (Korea time), going 1-for-5. After showcasing his form a day earlier with his first career inside-the-park home run in the big leagues, Lee extended his hitting streak to two games but managed only one hit, dropping his season batting average slightly from .267 to .265 (45-for-170).
Lee flied out to center in his first at-bat in the first inning and grounded out to second base in the third. With San Francisco leading 2-1 and one out in the top of the fifth, he singled to right field off Athletics starter Aaron Civale.
Lee advanced to second base on a subsequent hit by Luis Arraez but was unable to score, as Matt Chapman flied out in foul territory to first base and Rafael Devers struck out.
Lee then flied out to center in the seventh inning and grounded out to second in the ninth, finishing the game without an additional hit. The Giants lost 2-5 to the Athletics, marking their third straight defeat.
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Kim Hye-seong started as the No. 9 hitter and second baseman in the road game against the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, going 1-for-4.
Kim recorded a hit in his second consecutive game, but his season batting average slipped slightly from .274 to .273 (24-for-88).
