South Korean national team midfielder Lee Kang-in will miss Paris Saint-Germain's (PSG) regular-season Ligue 1 title-clinching match due to injury.
Ahead of the 2025-2026 season Ligue 1 Round 29 away match against RC Lens on Wednesday (Korea time), PSG announced the status of injured players, including Lee, through the club's official website on Monday afternoon.
The club said Lee "injured his left ankle during the Brest match and will train indoors for the coming days."
Lee started in the Ligue 1 Round 33 home match against Brest (a 1-0 win) on Sunday and was substituted by Desire Doue in the eighth minute of the second half.
Lee had raised injury concerns earlier when he was tripped by a defender while cutting into the right side of the opposition's penalty area in first-half stoppage time. He returned to the pitch after halftime but was unable to play long before being taken off.
Based on the club's announcement, the injury does not appear serious enough to affect his participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, which is just a month away, but Lee will be unable to share the team's Ligue 1 championship moment on the pitch this season.
With 73 points after the win over Brest, PSG currently leads second-placed Lens (67 points) by six points with two matches remaining. A draw in the postponed Lens match would be enough to secure PSG's fifth consecutive Ligue 1 title and 14th overall championship.
