Choi Hye-jin, who posted her best performance of the season at the LPGA Tour's Mizuho Americas Open, has seen her world ranking edge higher.
Choi moved up two spots to 15th in the Women's World Golf Rankings released Monday (Korea time), from 17th the previous week. She finished tied for third at the Mizuho Americas Open, which ended Sunday, with a final total of 8-under 280. While she missed out on her first tour victory, the result marked her third top-10 finish of the season and her best showing of the year, lifting her world ranking.
Kim Hyo-joo, who captured her first domestic title in four years and seven months, held her world ranking at No. 3, unchanged from the previous week. Kim claimed victory at the Korea LPGA (KLPGA) Tour's NH Investment & Securities Ladies Championship, which concluded Saturday, edging Park Hyun-kyung by one stroke. Runner-up Park climbed 10 spots to 74th from 84th the previous week.
Nelly Korda of the United States remains world No. 1. Korda did not compete last week but retained the top spot. Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand, who won the Mizuho Americas Open, stayed at No. 2, narrowing the gap with Korda.
