Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the French club of South Korean national team midfielder Lee Kang-in, has advanced to the UEFA Champions League (UCL) final for the second consecutive year after defeating Germany's Bayern Munich.
PSG, led by manager Luis Enrique, drew 1-1 with Bayern in the away leg of the 2025-2026 UEFA Champions League semifinal second leg held at Allianz Arena in Munich on Tuesday (local time).
Having won the first leg 5-4 at home on April 29, PSG secured its ticket to the final with a 6-5 aggregate victory over Bayern.
Reaching the final for the second consecutive season, PSG is aiming for back-to-back titles.
PSG will face Arsenal, which reached the final for the first time in 20 years by defeating Atletico Madrid of Spain, in the title match at Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary, on May 31 Korea time.
Lee Kang-in of PSG and Kim Min-jae of Bayern, both of whom remained on the bench in the first leg of the semifinal, were included in the substitutes list again for this match.
However, while Kim was brought on midway through the second half, Lee once again did not get a chance to play, meaning the "Korean Derby" did not take place.
PSG took the lead in the third minute through Ousmane Dembele. After receiving a through ball from Fabian Ruiz on the left flank, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia carried the ball to the left side of the penalty area and laid it off to the center, where Dembele found the Bayern net with a first-time left-footed strike.
Bayern, conceding the opener, pushed forward in search of an equalizer. The breakthrough came in second-half stoppage time. In the 49th minute of the second half, Harry Kane received a pass from Alphonso Davies and slotted home the equalizer with a left-footed shot from close range.
But time ran short. Bayern ultimately failed to overturn the one-goal aggregate deficit and had to watch PSG advance to the final.
