Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Kim Hye-seong delivered a multi-hit performance that included his first triple of the season, showcasing a sharp hitting touch.
Kim started as the No. 8 hitter and shortstop in the 2026 Major League Baseball road game against the Houston Astros at Daikin Park in Houston, Texas, on Friday Korea time, going 2-for-5 with one run scored. His season batting average rose from .308 to .314.
Kim flied out to right field in the second inning and struck out in the fourth. In the fifth, with one out and a runner on first, he reached base with a center-field single. In the top of the seventh, he drove a triple into left-center field — his first of the season and the second of his career. He then scored on Alex Freeland's single to right. In the top of the ninth, he was retired on a fly ball to the shortstop.
Dodgers center fielder and No. 6 hitter Andy Pages single-handedly produced three home runs and six RBIs, hitting a three-run homer in the third, a two-run shot in the fifth and a solo blast in the ninth. Leadoff designated hitter Shohei Ohtani went 2-for-4, snapping a slump in which he had gone hitless in 17 at-bats over his previous five games. Dodgers position players, including Kim, combined for 14 hits on the day.
The Dodgers routed Houston 12-2, improving to 23-14 and maintaining their lead in the National League West.
