FC Midtjylland, with Cho Gue-sung coming on as a substitute and Lee Han-beom starting, surrendered the top spot in Denmark's professional football league and dropped to second place.
Midtjylland drew 3-3 with Viborg in the 30th round of the 2025-2026 Danish Superliga (8th round of the Championship Round) at MCH Arena in Herning, Denmark, on Sunday, Korean time.
Earning just one point from the match, Midtjylland recorded consecutive draws. With 59 points (16 wins, 11 draws, 3 losses), Midtjylland lost the top spot to AGF (61 points), which defeated SønderjyskE 2-1 the previous day. The Championship Round winner secures a spot in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League next season. With two matches remaining in the season and a two-point gap behind AGF, Midtjylland's bid for a fifth overall title — which would be its first since the 2023-2024 season — has been put in jeopardy.
Midtjylland benched forward Cho Gue-sung and started defender Lee Han-beom. After conceding goals in the 33rd and 45th minutes of the first half, Midtjylland pulled one back through Dario Osorio in the 36th minute and equalized through Pedro Bravo in first-half stoppage time, ending the first half 2-2.
Midtjylland made a bold move in the second half. Bringing on Cho Gue-sung in the 15th minute of the second half and launching a relentless attack, Midtjylland took the lead when Martin Erlić scored with a header in the 35th minute of the second half. However, they conceded a painful equalizer in the 44th minute and had to settle for a draw. Cho Gue-sung battled hard, recording one shot, but failed to register an attacking point. Lee Han-beom played the full match.
