
KT Wiz became the first team to reach 20 wins this season. Samsung, LG, Lotte, and Doosan also claimed victories.
KT defeated the KIA Tigers 4-3 in an away game at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field on Tuesday in the 2026 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League. With the win, KT became the first team this season to reach 20 wins (9 losses), boosting its chances of advancing to the postseason. Historically in Korean professional baseball, the team that reaches 20 wins first has gone on to win the regular season title 64.9% of the time (24 out of 37 instances). The Korean Series championship probability stands at 51.4% (19 out of 37).
KT took the lead in the top of the third with the bases loaded and two outs, as Kim Sang-soo drew a bases-loaded walk. In the fourth, Han Seung-taek hit a solo home run to extend the lead to 2-0. In the top of the fifth, Sam Hilliard hit a triple and was brought home by Kim Sang-soo's single to right field, pushing the score to 3-1. In the ninth, with one out and runners on first and second, Jang Sung-woo delivered a clutch RBI single to right field.
KIA cut the deficit in the bottom of the fourth when Kim Do-young hit a single to left field following Kim Ho-ryeong's double. In the bottom of the eighth, with one out and the bases loaded, Kim Do-young drew a bases-loaded walk to tie the game at 3-3, but KIA ultimately fell short. Kim Do-young went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, accounting for all of KIA's runs, but his effort was overshadowed by the team's loss.
In Daegu, the Samsung Lions came from behind to defeat the Hanwha Eagles 4-3. Hanwha took a 3-0 lead in the top of the second on Heo In-seo's three-run homer over the left field wall, but Samsung scored in the bottom of the sixth and seventh to overturn the game. Lewin Diaz hit a two-RBI single to right field, and Park Seung-gyu launched a two-run homer over the left field fence to seal the 4-3 comeback.
At Jamsil, LG defeated the NC Dinos 5-1 at home. With Anders Tolhurst pitching strongly, Austin Dean and Song Chan-eui powered the offense with home runs. In the bottom of the third with two outs, Cheon Seong-ho hit a triple, followed by Austin's two-run homer over the left field wall. The home run, Austin's seventh of the season, moved him into a tie for second in the category. After Moon Bo-gyeong drew a walk, Song Chan-eui followed with another two-run homer to make it 4-0. In the fourth, Hong Chang-ki added a sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 5-0. NC pulled one back in the top of the seventh on Matt Davidson's RBI single but could muster no more.
In Incheon, last-place Lotte edged the SSG Landers 10-7 in extra innings. Lotte trailed through the sixth but its offense erupted after SSG starter Shota Takeda was pulled. With the bases loaded and two outs, Son Seong-bin's single to left field brought in two runs, and following Lee Ho-jun's walk, Jeon Min-jae hit a two-RBI single to flip the score to 4-3. Lotte continued its rally with Jang Doo-sung's RBI single and a double steal that produced two more runs, extending the lead to 6-3.
SSG refused to go quietly. In the bottom of the seventh, Guillermo Heredia's two-RBI single helped the Landers score three runs to tie the game at 6-6. The game was decided in the 10th inning. With two outs and runners on first and second in the top of the 10th, Jang Doo-sung hit a single to right field to put Lotte ahead 7-6, and Park Seung-wook and Victor Reyes followed with back-to-back doubles to add three more runs and seal the win.
At Gocheok Dome, the Doosan Bears crushed the Kiwoom Heroes 16-6, pounding out 15 hits. Kiwoom took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second on a Doosan error, but the Bears immediately turned the tables in the top of the third on Daz Cameron's three-run homer. After trading runs, Doosan broke the game open with five runs in the top of the sixth to lead 10-5, then added six more in the seventh to put the game away. With their third straight win, Doosan climbed into a tie for fifth place.
