The future of Bryson DeChambeau, LIV Golf's biggest star, remains shrouded in uncertainty.
According to Golf Monthly in the United Kingdom on Tuesday, DeChambeau said he is "confident that we can find a solution" regarding contract renewal negotiations with LIV Golf. The comments came just days after The Athletic reported that DeChambeau had met with several organizations during the Masters tournament to discuss his options should he leave LIV Golf.
Amid growing concerns about LIV Golf's future, the Financial Times reported that Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) plans to withdraw its support for the circuit. Against that backdrop, speculation that DeChambeau is seeking an "exit strategy" has become a hot topic in the golf world.
DeChambeau, however, appears to have not yet let go of the negotiating rope with LIV Golf. He is reported to have demanded $500 million as a condition for renewal, leaving it unclear whether the two sides can find common ground. Still, remaining with LIV Golf appears to be DeChambeau's top priority for now.
"We are still discussing the contract. We haven't given up, and I think there will be a solution," DeChambeau said. "For now, it's my job to help ensure the league runs properly beyond this year. I feel a sense of responsibility."
