GS Caltex Seoul Kixx volleyball team has re-signed "Cuban Express" Gyselle Silva (35), continuing their partnership into the 2026-2027 season. Under Korea Volleyball Federation rules, Silva will receive $300,000, the salary cap for foreign players in the women's division.
Silva, who joined GS Caltex as the sixth overall pick in the 2023 foreign player tryout, made a strong impression as one of the V-League's top players from her debut in the 2023-2024 season. That season, she appeared in 131 sets across 36 matches, leading the team's offense with first place in scoring (1,005 points), first in overall attack (46.80%), and first in serves (0.359).
She delivered an even more mature performance in the 2024-2025 season. Despite an ankle injury, she demonstrated her signature leadership and competitive drive, appearing in 124 sets across 32 matches and ranking first in scoring (1,008 points), third in overall attack (45.77%), and first in serves (0.484).
Silva's presence was once again overwhelming in the 2025-2026 season. She appeared in 139 sets across 36 matches, ranking first in scoring (1,083 points), first in overall attack (47.33%), and second in serves (0.309), setting a V-League record as the first player to surpass 1,000 points in three consecutive seasons. She also swept three Round MVP awards (Rounds 1, 5, and 6), the Regular League MVP, and the Championship Finals MVP, serving as the key contributor to the team's championship victory.
Silva has further solidified her status as the greatest foreign player in GS Caltex history, writing a new chapter with the team.
