A new park golf practice range has been established in Goesan County, North Chungcheong Province.
The county announced Monday that it has built the "Cheongcheon Park Golf Practice Range" in the Seonpyeong-ri area of Cheongcheon-myeon and held a completion ceremony. A total of 550 million won ($400,000) was invested in the project, with a 5-hole practice range, one office building, and outdoor exercise equipment installed on a 4,400-square-meter site.
Construction on the facility began on July 23 last year and was completed on the 18th of this month. Following a turf management period, the range is scheduled to officially open on June 1.
The county has been focusing on expanding related facilities in response to the recent surge in demand for park golf. In addition to the existing Goesan Park Golf Course and Goesan Ground Golf Course, the Jeongyong Park Golf Course (9 holes) and Yeonpung Ground Golf Practice Range (8 holes) have also begun operations. In August, a large-scale 18-hole park golf course spanning 60,000 square meters, with 4 billion won invested, is set to be completed in the Dojeong-ri area of Chilseong-myeon.
"We will continue to expand sports facilities so that residents can enjoy healthy leisure activities," a county official said.
