Jeju City's park golf courses will reopen in phases after a temporary closure for spring turf protection and facility maintenance.
The city announced Sunday that local park golf courses, which had been closed since March 1, will reopen in stages starting April 24. The closure was implemented to protect spring turf growth and to carry out overall facility maintenance, including renovations at the Sangdo-ri Park Golf Course ahead of the National Sports Festival.
During the closure, the city gathered user feedback and made facility improvements, including reinforcing safety fences and adjusting some courses. Turf planting and environmental maintenance were also carried out to create more comfortable conditions for users.
The Mirinae Park Golf Course completed its maintenance and resumed normal operations on April 16. The Ara-dong Park Golf Course will open on April 24, followed by Hoecheon Park Golf Course on May 1 and Sangdo-ri Park Golf Course on May 2.
All courses will operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Closure days are Mondays for Mirinae, Tuesdays for Ara-dong, Thursdays for Hoecheon, and Fridays for Sangdo-ri.
"We expect that the reopening will allow citizens to enjoy sports activities in a safer and more comfortable environment," said Kim Dong-hwan, head of the city's Sports Promotion Division. "We will continue to actively reflect citizens' opinions and strive to operate public sports facilities with a focus on users."
