The Samsung Lions defeated the LG Twins to maintain their lead in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) standings.
Samsung won 7-2 in a home game against the LG Twins at Daegu Samsung Lions Park on Tuesday in the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League regular season.
With their seventh consecutive win, Samsung retained first place with a 12-1-4 record. LG held third place at 11-6 but fell 1.5 games behind the league-leading Lions.
In the top of the fourth inning with the score tied 0-0, Samsung starting pitcher Zach Oracklin was ejected for a headshot pitch. Lee Seung-min, hastily brought in as a replacement, escaped the jam with runners on first and second and one out by inducing a pitcher's ground ball double play from Hong Chang-ki.
Samsung shifted the momentum with five runs in the bottom of the fourth. After Lee Jae-hyun's center-field single and Choi Hyoung-woo's left-field line double put runners on second and third with no outs, Lewin Diaz delivered a two-RBI single to make it 2-0. Ryu Ji-hyuk followed with a left-field single to extend the threat with no outs and runners on first and second. Jeon Byeong-woo then blasted a three-run homer on a 141 kph fastball on the fifth pitch from LG starter Im Chan-kyu, widening the gap to 5-0.
After six consecutive hits, Choi Hyoung-woo drove in another run with a right-field RBI single to make it 6-0. In the bottom of the sixth, Kim Heon-gon's triple to right-center with two outs and a runner on first pushed the lead to 7-0.
