The Doosan Bears defeated the KIA Tigers to snap a three-game losing streak in Korea's professional baseball league.
Doosan beat KIA 5-4 in a home game of the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League regular season held at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on Tuesday. The victory improved Doosan's record to 6 wins, 11 losses and 1 tie.
Doosan capitalized on an opponent's error to take the early lead. In the first inning, leadoff hitter Park Chan-ho drew a walk and then stole second base. He advanced to third on Son Ah-seop's groundout, putting runners at third with one out. After Park Jun-soon struck out, Yang Ui-ji hit a groundball straight to the shortstop.
KIA shortstop Jared Dyer mishandled Yang's grounder, allowing Park Chan-ho to score from third. In the third inning, Son Ah-seop reached base on a double to left field, and with two outs, Kim Min-seok's RBI single to right made it 2-0. Kim Do-young then led a comeback with his sixth home run of the season.
However, in Doosan's eighth-inning rally, leadoff hitter Yang Ui-ji launched his second solo homer of the season off Kim Beom-soo. Yun Tae-ho escaped a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the top of the 10th inning without allowing a run, and Lee Yu-chan closed out the game.
With the loss, KIA fell to 10 wins and 8 losses.
