Seoul's Dongjak District has opened its first screen park golf facility at Sangdo Station.
The district announced Thursday that it opened "Sangdo Station Screen Park Golf Station" on the first floor of the Sangdo Station underground shopping area. The facility, which opened the previous day, is the district's first screen park golf venue, utilizing idle space within a subway station for recreational sports.
The project was launched in response to growing demand for park golf despite difficulties securing urban land. By adopting screen technology that allows play regardless of weather or space constraints, the district improved accessibility and user convenience.
The facility spans 112.57 square meters (approximately 34 pyeong), featuring three bays and a lounge area. Each bay accommodates up to four players, allowing a maximum of 12 users per session.
Operating hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, with four 90-minute sessions per day. The fee is 4,000 won ($2.80) per session, with Dongjak District residents eligible for a 50% discount at 2,000 won. Reservations can be made through the Seoul Metropolitan Government's public service booking system, with usage limited to twice per week per person.
"Screen park golf is a recreational sport that enables data-driven practice for skill improvement while being easy on the body," District Mayor Park Il-ha said. "We will continue working to expand community-based sports facilities so all residents can enjoy healthy leisure activities close to home."
