Son Heung-min (33), captain of the South Korean national football team and star forward at Major League Soccer's (MLS) Los Angeles FC, has been named to the round Best XI for the first time this season.
Son secured a forward spot in the 2025 season MLS Round 6 Best XI announced by the MLS office on Sunday (local time).
This marks the first time this season that Son has been included in the round Best XI, which MLS selects under the name "Team of the Matchday."
Son delivered a stunning performance in this round. Starting in the home match against Orlando City at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California on Saturday, Son played 57 minutes and recorded four assists in the first half alone, leading his team to a dominant 6-0 victory.
In MLS history, Son is only the second player to record four or more assists in a single half, following Lionel Messi of Inter Miami, who once recorded five assists in a second half alone.
In the Round 6 Best XI, selected in a 3-4-3 formation, Son formed the attacking line alongside teammate Buangaga and Columbus Crew's Wesam Abu Ali.
LAFC head coach Marc Dos Santos was named Round 6 Coach of the Matchday.
