Choi Dong-ho, chairman of Allday Golf Group who also leads the Korea Golf Course Management Association, donated 44 million won in scholarship funds to Dongguk University.
Allday Golf Group said Monday that "Chairman Choi Dong-ho visited Dongguk University's Seoul campus in Jung-gu, Seoul, to donate 44 million won in Jeongam Scholarship funds and personally presented scholarship certificates to the recipients." The ceremony was attended by Chairman Choi, Dongguk University Vice President for Academic Affairs Kim Yong-hyun, Director of External Cooperation Lee Kyung-chul, and other key university officials, as well as Venerable Heewon and Venerable Heekyung, abbots of Mitasa Temple in Eumseong-gun, North Chungcheong Province.
"The longstanding ties with Mitasa Temple, passed down from previous generations, have led to this meaningful occasion," Chairman Choi said. "I want to ease the financial burden on student monks and support them in focusing on their studies."
Allday Golf Group operates five golf courses in Korea, including Cheongju TGV, Imperial Lake, Royal Fore, Allday Golf & Resort, and Ox Field. Chairman Choi has also served as chairman of the Korea Golf Course Management Association since March last year.
