Seoul Samsung, a professional basketball team in Korea's KBL, is preparing a final farewell to its home arena, Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium.
Seoul Samsung announced on the 6th that it will hold an "Adieu Jamsil" event after its last home game on the 8th to commemorate memories at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium, which will be demolished after this season ends.
Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium, which Samsung has used as its home court since 2001, will disappear into history at the end of this season as part of a redevelopment project in the Jamsil Sports Complex area. Starting next season, Samsung will share Jamsil Students' Gymnasium as its home arena with Seoul SK.
Through the "Adieu Jamsil" event, Samsung aims to relive the memories shared with fans at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium until the very end. The team has been running various programs over its final five home games, beginning with the match against Anyang KGC on the 9th of last month, and will culminate with the last home game against Daegu Korea Gas Corporation Pegasus on the 8th. The first 1,000 fans to enter will receive commemorative T-shirts and balloons. After the game, a memorial video screening and an awards ceremony honoring all-time record holders at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium will follow.
