South Korean national team wing-back Lee Tae-seok (24, Austria Wien) delivered his third league goal of the season in a standout individual performance.
Lee started the Austrian Bundesliga Round 25 away match against LASK at the Raiffeisen Arena in Linz, Austria, on Monday and scored a consolation goal in the 16th minute of the first half while his team trailed 0-3. It was his third goal of the season.
He has secured the starting left wing-back position at Wien and has appeared in nearly every match. As of this game, his attacking contributions stand at three goals and three assists.
Midfielder Lee Kang-hee, who also plays for Wien, started the match alongside Lee Tae-seok. Both played the full 90 minutes.
Despite the efforts of Lee Tae-seok and Lee Kang-hee, the team suffered a heavy 1-4 defeat.
Wien found themselves in difficulty from the outset as a red card compounded early goals conceded. Tin Plavotić was sent off in the 11th minute, and the team conceded three goals in rapid succession — to Moudu Keba Cissé in the fifth minute, Kasper Jørgensen in the 13th minute, and Moses Usor in the 14th minute — falling behind by three goals almost instantly.
Lee Tae-seok's goal sparked a brief fightback, but Saša Kalajdžić restored the three-goal margin with a header in the 33rd minute.
Wien, on 21 points, dropped to fifth among the six teams in the split-round Group A. LASK, who beat Wien on the day, climbed to fourth with 22 points.
