Golfzon County Seonsan in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, has been selected as the venue for the Korean Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Tour Golfzon Open, a tournament carrying total prize money of 1 billion won ($730,000), to be held in September.
According to Golfzon on the 2nd, the company decided to hold this year's tournament at Golfzon County Seonsan, which has consistently hosted the event since its inaugural edition in 2022.
The Golfzon Open had not finalized its course when the KPGA announced its schedule in early March, but the organizer subsequently settled on Golfzon County Seonsan after internal deliberation.
With this decision, Golfzon County Seonsan will host both the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour iM Financial Open in April and the Golfzon Open in the second half of the year, making it a venue for both men's and women's tour events in a single year.
Golfzon County Seonsan is an 18-hole public golf course located in Sandong-eup, Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, and is regarded as one of the premier courses in the Yeongnam region. It is well known for its wide, open fairways and excellent turf maintenance.
From 2022 to 2024, the tournament was held under the name Golfzon Toray Open, with Park Eun-shin, Jeong Chan-min, and Ham Jeong-woo claiming victories. In 2025, when the event was renamed the Golfzon Open, Park Seong-guk ended a seven-year winless drought dating back to his debut victory at the Hyundai Marine & Fire Choi Kyoung-ju Invitational in October 2018, celebrating his second career tour title.
Meanwhile, the KPGA Tour will kick off its 2026 season with the DB Insurance Promi Open (1 billion won), held over four days starting the 16th at La Vie Belle Golf & Resort in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province.
