Kim Hyo-joo, who claimed back-to-back victories on the LPGA Tour, has risen to No. 3 in the women's golf world rankings.
In the women's golf world rankings released Monday (Korea time), Kim climbed one spot from last week's No. 4 to reach No. 3. The ranking marks her career high. Her previous best was No. 4, first achieved in March 2015 and matched again last week.
Kim won the Ford Championship at Whirlwind Golf Club in Phoenix, Arizona, on Sunday, completing consecutive LPGA Tour victories following the Fortinet Founders Cup. The win gave her a first career title defense and a first two-win season since joining the LPGA Tour, propelling her into the world's top three for the first time.
Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand and Nelly Korda of the United States held on to the No. 1 and No. 2 spots respectively, while Charley Hull of England dropped to No. 4 after being overtaken by Kim. Minjee Lee of Australia and Miyuu Yamashita of Japan maintained fifth and sixth place respectively, and Lydia Ko of New Zealand moved up one spot to No. 7.
Kim Sei-young ranked 10th, the second-highest among Korean players behind Kim Hyo-joo, slipping one spot from last week's ninth. Yoo Hae-ran held at No. 13, and Choi Hye-jin remained at No. 15.
