The KIA Tigers have been named Koreans' favorite professional baseball team, beating out the Hanwha Eagles and Samsung Lions, according to a new poll.
Gallup Korea released the results of its baseball-related opinion survey on Thursday, showing that 13% of all respondents picked KIA as their favorite team.
The Hanwha Eagles came in second at 10%, while the Samsung Lions and Lotte Giants tied for third with 9% each.
In contrast, teams based in the Seoul metropolitan area saw a gradual decline in popularity over the past three years. The LG Twins, champions of the 2025 season, fell from 7% in 2024 to 6% in 2025 and slipped further to 5% this year, placing fifth.
The Doosan Bears also declined from 6% in 2023 to 5% in 2024 and 4% in 2025, ending up at just 3% this year for sixth place.
The NC Dinos ranked seventh at 2%, while the SSG Landers, Kiwoom Heroes, and kt wiz tied for eighth at 1% each. Forty-six percent of respondents said they had no favorite team.
