Last year, Yun I-na recorded only two bogey-free rounds in 79 rounds on the LPGA Tour. Her first came in the second round of the BMW Ladies Championship in October — her 66th round of the season. She then posted another clean card in the final round of the Annika Driven in November, her last round of the year.
Having struggled with bogeys that frequently halted her momentum last season, Yun is expected to shed much of that fear after recording a bogey-free round early this year.
Yun shot a bogey-free 6-under-par 66 in the second round of the Ford Championship at Whirlwind Golf Club's Cattail Course (par 72) in Phoenix, Arizona, on Monday (Korea time). She achieved her first bogey-free round of the season in just her 14th round — 52 rounds earlier than last year.
Hwang Yu-min and Kim Sei-young each trimmed two strokes on the day to finish at 4-under-par for the tournament, falling one stroke short of the cut line at 5-under-par. Kim A-rim and Lee Dong-eun, who posted two-day totals of 2-under-par, also missed the cut.
