South Korea's baseball team maintained its fourth-place position in the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) world rankings after advancing to the quarterfinals at the 2026 World Baseball Classic (WBC) for the first time in 17 years.
The WBSC released its updated baseball world rankings on Tuesday, based on tournament results over the past four years including the 2026 WBC. South Korea held steady at fourth place with 4,239 points, unchanged from the previous rankings released in December last year.
Japan topped the rankings with 6,337 points, followed by Taiwan with 5,302 points and the United States with 4,357 points. Venezuela, the 2026 WBC champion, climbed to fifth place with 3,992 points, up 339 points from the previous rankings, narrowing the gap with the teams above.
