Kim Hyo-joo, winner of the LPGA Tour Fortinet Founders Cup, has risen to No. 4 in the world rankings.
Kim received 5.38 points in the women's golf world rankings released Monday (Korea time), climbing four spots from No. 8 the previous week. She now holds the highest ranking among Korean players.
Kim finished the LPGA Tour Fortinet Founders Cup on Sunday with a final score of 16-under-par 272, edging out Nelly Korda of the United States by one stroke. It was her first victory in about a year since the Ford Championship in March last year, bringing her career LPGA Tour win total to eight.
The top three in the world rankings remained unchanged. Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand held on to No. 1, followed by Korda, the Fortinet Founders Cup runner-up, at No. 2. Charley Hull of England stayed at No. 3, while Minjee Lee of Australia and Miyuu Yamashita of Japan each dropped one spot to No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. Lydia Ko of New Zealand fell from No. 6 to No. 8.
Kim Se-young, who finished tied for third at the Fortinet Founders Cup, rose one spot to No. 9. Lim Jin-hee, who posted the same result as Kim Se-young, jumped 10 spots to No. 39.
