Jung Sung-jo, the first non-elite player (a player without experience on a school basketball team) to be drafted in Korean Basketball League (KBL) history, has signed an agent contract with Key Player Agency.
Key Player Agency announced on the 20th, "We will comprehensively manage the career of Jung Sung-jo, who is currently playing for Seoul Samsung Thunders," adding, "We will spare no effort in supporting not only his performance improvement but also player management, salary and contract negotiations, branding, commercial activities, and media strategy."
Jung Sung-jo, drafted in the 2024 KBL Rookie Draft, drew attention as a non-elite player with no academy basketball or elite player background. After playing for Goyang Sono Skygunners, he is now with Seoul Samsung Thunders, building his presence in Korean basketball. Jung said, "I need to perform well so that others who share my dream can have the courage to try. As someone who entered the pro league as a non-elite player, I feel a great sense of responsibility. I will work with Key Player Agency to take my game to the next level."
Han Jung-moo, CEO of Key Player Agency, said, "We will provide balanced career planning, performance support, and brand strategy so that Jung Sung-jo can establish himself as a player with a story that represents the KBL in the long term through consistent growth and competitiveness, rather than being just a passing topic of interest." Key Player Agency represents players including Kim Sun-hyung, Owner (Moon Hyun-jun), Heo Woong, Kang Yi-seul, Park Mu-bin, Lee Woo-seok, and Shin Ji-hyun.
