Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin personally met with medalists from the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics to offer his congratulations.
Lotte, the title sponsor of the Korea Ski & Snowboard Association, hosted a "National Ski & Snowboard Team Appreciation Event" at Signiel Seoul on May 19 in partnership with the association.
The Korea Ski & Snowboard Association presented 860 million won in prize money and commemorative gifts to athletes and coaches who achieved outstanding results. Choi Ga-on (Sewha Girls' High School), gold medalist in women's snowboard halfpipe, received 300 million won. Kim Sang-gyeom (High1), silver medalist in men's snowboard parallel giant slalom, received 200 million won. Yoo Seung-eun (Seongbok High School), bronze medalist in women's snowboard big air, received 100 million won.
Medalists also received wooden medal cases engraved with the Lotte Group symbol in pure gold. Each case contained 7.5 grams of pure gold.
Lee Chae-un (Kyung Hee University), who placed sixth in men's snowboard halfpipe, received 10 million won. Coaches for snowboard halfpipe, big air, and alpine events received a combined 250 million won.
In addition to the association's prize money, Chairman Shin personally funded special bonuses of 100 million won for Choi Ga-on, 70 million won for Kim Sang-gyeom, and 35 million won for Yoo Seung-eun.
Since receiving Lotte's support, the Ski & Snowboard Association has offered prize money of 300 million won for Olympic gold, 200 million won for silver, and 100 million won for bronze. Choi Ga-on became the first recipient of the 300 million won prize after winning Korea's first-ever gold medal in snow sports.
The event was attended by Chairman Shin, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Choi Hwi-young, National Assembly Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee Chairman Kim Kyo-heung, Democratic Party lawmaker Lim Oh-kyung, and Korean Sport & Olympic Committee President Yoo Seung-min.
A Lotte official said, "We organized this event to express our gratitude to the athletes and coaches who brought joy to the nation with their valuable achievements at international competitions. We will continue to support an environment where athletes can focus on training and achieve great results."
