Paris Saint-Germain, home to South Korean national team midfielder Lee Kang-in, secured a dominant away victory against Chelsea to advance to the 2025-2026 UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.
PSG defeated Chelsea 3-0 in the Round of 16 second leg at Stamford Bridge in London on the 17th (local time).
Having won the first leg 5-2, PSG comfortably eliminated Chelsea with an 8-2 aggregate score to reach the quarterfinals.
PSG will face the winner of the Galatasaray (Turkey) versus Liverpool (England) match in a home-and-away series for a spot in the semifinals in April. Galatasaray leads Liverpool 1-0 after the first leg.
Lee Kang-in, who started on the bench, entered the pitch in the 73rd minute, replacing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Despite the limited playing time preventing him from recording any attacking contributions, he contributed to the team's victory with his sharp movements.
Lee has appeared in all nine UCL matches this season exclusively as a substitute, recording one assist without scoring.
Including his Ligue 1 stats (2 goals, 3 assists) and UEFA Super Cup performance (1 goal), he has recorded 3 goals and 4 assists in official competitions this season.
