Wolverhampton secured a 2-2 draw against Brentford on Saturday, extending their unbeaten streak to three matches in the English Premier League, while South Korean international forward Hwang Hee-chan remained sidelined.
The match, played at Brentford's Gtech Community Stadium for the 2024-2025 EPL Round 30, saw bottom-placed Wolverhampton (17 points) narrow the gap to just three points behind 19th-place Burnley (20 points), who have played one more game. Wolverhampton has recorded two wins and one draw in their last three league matches.
Hwang was named to the substitute bench but did not enter the game. The striker last started in the Round 25 home match against Chelsea on February, leaving the pitch in the 43rd minute with calf muscle pain during a 1-3 defeat. He had missed four consecutive league matches while focusing on recovery training.
Hwang signaled his return to full fitness on March 8, coming off the bench in the 2024-2025 FA Cup fifth round match against Liverpool and scoring his third goal of the season.
Despite recovering from injury, Hwang was named to South Korea national team head coach Hong Myung-bo's squad for this month's international friendly. However, he failed to see action in Saturday's Round 30 match, marking his sixth consecutive league absence.
Wolverhampton fell behind by two goals before Adam Armstrong pulled one back in the 44th minute of the first half. Tolu Arokodare completed the comeback with an equalizer in the 77th minute.
