Cameron Young of the United States captured the Players Championship title and the $4.5 million winner's prize (approximately 6.74 billion won) after a dramatic comeback at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
The tournament, often called "the fifth major," concluded Sunday at the Players Stadium Course (par 72), where the iconic island green 17th hole proved decisive.
Young landed his tee shot approximately 3 meters from the pin on the par-3 17th and converted the birdie putt, rapidly closing the gap with solo leader Matt Fitzpatrick of England. On the 18th hole, Young secured par while Fitzpatrick settled for bogey, giving Young a one-stroke victory.
In the final round, Young carded four-under-par 68 with five birdies and one bogey. His tournament total of 13-under-par 275 edged Fitzpatrick by one stroke. The victory marks Young's second PGA Tour win, coming seven months after his breakthrough at the 2025 Wyndham Championship.
