Daejeon Metropolitan City announced on the 13th that it has successfully attracted Season 2 of the reality baseball entertainment content 'Flame Baseball.'
The city signed a three-party agreement with agency Studio C1 and production company Gukdae at City Hall to host 'Flame Baseball 2' and secure priority use of Hanbat Baseball Stadium.
The production company explained that the new season will feature more exciting games by adding new content to the show, which gained explosive popularity last year.
The city will provide administrative support including venue rental for Hanbat Baseball Stadium and auxiliary facilities. Studio C1 will handle content planning, production, filming, and operations while also promoting Daejeon's city brand. Gukdae will manage stadium operations, coordinate schedules between organizations, and oversee on-site operations. Hanbat Baseball Stadium currently sits vacant following the Hanwha Eagles' relocation to a new home stadium.
Flame Baseball 2 is a reality baseball entertainment program featuring retired legendary players competing against top high school, college, and independent league teams from across the nation. The show will be broadcast through Studio C1's streaming platform.
Through hosting these games, the city plans to increase utilization of Hanbat Baseball Stadium while also organizing related events including the inaugural Ryu Hyun-jin Cup Invitational Middle School Baseball Tournament and the Park Chan-ho Cup National Little League Baseball Tournament.
Mayor Lee Jang-woo said, "With this agreement, we will actively support efforts to reignite Hanbat Baseball Stadium, a sacred site of Daejeon baseball, with a new name and content."
