Roger Cleveland, creator of the Cleveland 588 wedge, visited Korea to share his short game expertise.
Dunlop Sports Korea, which operates the Xxio, Srixon, and Cleveland brands, announced on the 11th that it held the "2026 Cleveland Golf Spin School" at the Dunlop Private Center Cheongdam in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul on the 9th.
Cleveland, who established the standards for modern wedge design, attended the event in person to share his short game philosophy with Korean golfers. As a wedge designer who founded Cleveland Golf in 1979, he redefined wedge design standards with the 588 wedge developed in 1988. He currently serves as an advisor to Cleveland Golf, continuing the brand's wedge development philosophy and technical heritage.
The event marked the launch of "Cleveland Spin School," a customer experience program designed to improve amateur golfers' short game skills. Participants learned various short game techniques including bump-and-run, lob shots, and flop shots while experiencing wedge spin control and short game strategies.
"We plan to continue expanding the '2026 Cleveland Golf Spin School' program, which specializes in short game and spin techniques, to further strengthen the brand's expertise," said Hong Soon-sung, CEO of Dunlop Sports Korea.
