American golf apparel brand Malbon announced Wednesday that it has signed a sponsorship deal with Im Sung-jae, who competes on the PGA Tour.
"Im Sung-jae enjoys various cultural activities beyond golf, including music and performances, and prefers a comfortable, hip style," Malbon said. "This aligns with Malbon's direction of expanding golf into a lifestyle."
This marks the first time Malbon has officially sponsored a Korean male golfer competing on the PGA Tour. Im has demonstrated consistent performance, recording three top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour last year.
Malbon will provide Im with functional apparel designed to enhance performance and showcase field styles completed with the brand's distinctive sensibility. The company plans to deliver its brand message—expanding golf into culture and daily life—through various content featuring Im's appearance on and off the course.
"Malbon apparel is comfortable to move in, making it great for swinging and everyday wear," Im said. "You can feel Malbon's unique characteristics in the design and details. It's a brand that highlights the wearer's style, so I'm looking forward to this season even more."
Im, who had been sidelined with a wrist injury, will compete in the Arnold Palmer Invitational (total purse $20 million) at Bay Hill Club and Lodge (par 72) in Orlando, Florida, starting Thursday and running through Sunday. This marks Im's return to PGA Tour competition for the first time in five months since the Shriners Children's Open last October.
