LPGA Tour star Ko Jin-young, 31, will tie the knot on Saturday.
According to golf industry sources on Tuesday, Ko will marry her boyfriend, who is five years her senior, at a private venue in Seoul on Saturday. The ceremony will be an intimate affair with only family, relatives, and close friends in attendance.
Ko and her fiancé met through a mutual acquaintance and are set to marry after approximately five years of dating. The groom-to-be is reportedly a finance professional working at a foreign investment bank. However, as Ko is in the middle of the LPGA Tour season, the couple plans to postpone their honeymoon. She will skip the Blue Bay LPGA in China this week but will compete in upcoming U.S. events including the Fortinet Founders Cup and Ford Championship.
Ko recently hinted at her marriage on social media. After completing the HSBC Women's World Championship in Singapore last week, she posted: "Last 'miss's play, Here we go," signaling a new chapter in her life.
Ko turned professional on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour in 2014, accumulating 11 career wins domestically before joining the LPGA Tour in 2018, where she has claimed 15 victories. She reached world No. 1 in 2019 and held the top ranking for a total of 163 weeks.
