
Choi Ga-on, the snowboard gold medalist at the 2026 Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo Winter Olympics, and figure skater Shin Ji-a received scholarships from Sewha Girls' High School in Seoul, where both athletes are enrolled.
Ilju Sewha Academy, an educational foundation under Taekwang Group, announced on the 3rd that it held an award ceremony at the school auditorium in Seocho-gu, Seoul, presenting each athlete with a special scholarship of 10 million won.
Choi won gold in the women's snowboard halfpipe, becoming the first Korean athlete to claim an Olympic gold medal in a snow sport. Shin competed in the women's singles figure skating event, finishing 11th with a combined score of 206.68 points in the short program and free skate.
The academy said it awarded the special scholarships to recognize the two athletes for elevating the school's honor and pride.
