Kim Do-young (KIA Tigers) proved his worth once again, launching home runs on consecutive days to live up to his "genius hitter" reputation.
Kim started as the designated hitter in the leadoff spot for South Korea's official 2026 World Baseball Classic evaluation game against NPB's Orix Buffaloes at Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, on March 3.
After striking out against Orix right-hander Raiku Katayama in his first at-bat in the first inning, Kim made sure it wouldn't happen twice.
With Korea leading 2-0 in the second inning and runners on first and third with two outs, Kim worked the count in his favor by taking three balls from Katayama.
The count went full, and when Katayama left a flat breaking ball over the middle of the strike zone, Kim uncorked his trademark powerful swing to drive a three-run homer over the left field fence.
This marks back-to-back home runs following his blast in the first official evaluation game against the Hanshin Tigers the previous day. Including practice games against KBO League clubs held in Okinawa, Japan, Kim has now homered in three consecutive games.
