Global sports company Descente Korea will co-host and sponsor the "12th Eoullim Marathon with the Visually Impaired" on June 13, putting into practice its corporate philosophy of "sports for everyone." The event will be held at Peace Plaza in Sangam World Cup Park, with registration currently open through the official website.
The Eoullim Marathon brings together visually impaired and non-disabled runners to share values of harmony and companionship. As co-host and sponsor, Descente Korea aims to spread an inclusive sports culture by embodying the message that sports should be open to all, not reserved for a select few. The company will directly participate in overall event operations to enhance quality, including detailed course design and participant flow planning for visually impaired runners, strengthened preliminary inspections, and expanded on-site safety personnel.
Starting this year, a half-marathon course has been added to the existing 5km and 10km options to accommodate varying participation preferences and completion levels. The new course provides fresh challenges for experienced participants while allowing runners to choose based on their fitness. The 5km course will be non-competitive, focusing on completion rather than times, while the 10km and half-marathon courses will be timed.
Registration is open to visually impaired participants, guide runners, and individuals, companies, and organizations that support the event's mission.
Proceeds from entry fees will be donated to the Seoul Visually Impaired Sports Federation to expand sports infrastructure and support athletic activities for the visually impaired. Participants can enjoy a meaningful running experience that combines marathon completion with charitable giving. All finishers will receive completion medals, and donation receipts are available upon request. Details are available on the official Eoullim Marathon website.
