World No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand headlines the HSBC Women's World Championship, often called "Asia's Major," as she pursues back-to-back victories following her win at last week's Honda LPGA Thailand.
Thitikul has dominated since the CPKC Women's Open last August, recording eight consecutive top-10 finishes including three wins and two runner-up results. She will seek her ninth straight top-10 at Sentosa Golf Club's Tanjong Course in Singapore from February 26 through four days of competition.
This tournament features an unusually large contingent of Korean players chasing consecutive top-10 streaks. Many secured top-10 finishes at both the season-opening Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions and the Honda LPGA Thailand.
Lee So-mi, Ryu Hae-ran, Kim A-lim, Yang Hee-young, and Hwang Yu-min finished in the top 10 at the season opener. Lee So-mi, Ryu Hae-ran, Kim A-lim, Kim Sei-young, Choi Hye-jin, and Kim Hyo-joo achieved the same at the Honda LPGA Thailand. Lee So-mi, Ryu Hae-ran, and Kim A-lim are currently riding two consecutive top-10 finishes this season.
Ryu Hae-ran has strung together four consecutive top-10 results dating back to last year's final two events. Lee So-mi has recorded three straight top-10s including last year's CME Group Tour Championship. At this tournament, Ryu seeks her fifth consecutive top-10 while Lee pursues her fourth.
Kim Sei-young, who tied for 10th at the Honda LPGA Thailand, is also on a four-tournament top-10 streak. Since capturing her first victory in over five years at last year's BMW Ladies Championship, she has delivered strong performances with a tied-fourth finish at the Maybank Championship and sole sixth place at the CME Group Tour Championship.
Another Korean player drawing attention for her consecutive top-10 pursuit is rookie of the year candidate Hwang Yu-min. She earned her 2025 tour card by winning last year's Lotte Championship as an invitational player, then tied for fifth at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in her official rookie debut. Having been ineligible for the Honda LPGA Thailand, this tournament represents her bid for a third consecutive top-10.
With nine of the world's top 10 players competing—only world No. 2 Nelly Korda of the United States is absent—Korean women golfers stand among the tournament's prominent contenders.
