FootJoy Unveils Next-Gen PRO/SL Golf Shoe Featuring Im Sung-jae's Input

FootJoy (FJ) announced on the 24th the launch of its new "PRO/SL with Z-TEC" golf shoe, featuring a completely redesigned structure across all components.

FJ held a launch event for the PRO/SL with Z-TEC at The Westin Josun Seoul Parnas hotel in Gangnam, Seoul on the same day. Chris Lindner, Global President of FJ's U.S. headquarters, and Richard Fryer, Global Vice President of Product, attended the event to personally explain the brand philosophy and development background of the new product.

According to FJ, the new PRO/SL with Z-TEC is a reimagined version of the PRO/SL, which has sold over 3 million pairs in approximately 10 years since its 2016 debut, establishing itself as the brand's flagship spikeless performance golf shoe.

The newly applied "Z-TEC" technology is a zone-based performance design that places required functions precisely where they are needed. Through a composite structure with clearly defined roles for each zone—more flexibility where movement occurs, enhanced comfort where cushioning is needed, and firmer support where stability is required—the shoe delivers stable support during swings while providing natural comfort during walking.

FJ also enhanced the product's quality by incorporating real feedback from tour players, including PGA Tour player Im Sung-jae.

Im Sung-jae, who has remained loyal to the PRO/SL line since its early models, explained: "The stable support and moderate responsiveness best suit my playing style, which demands strong lower-body lead and consistent swing tempo."

Choi Seung-bin, a KPGA Tour player and FJ brand ambassador who attended the event, shared his feedback: "The feeling of solid lower-body support during the swing was impressive. I particularly noticed a clear improvement in stability and grip at the moment of impact."

Global President Lindner stated: "The PRO/SL with Z-TEC is a next-generation golf shoe completed based on tour player feedback."
