There was no upset. World No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand claimed victory at the LPGA Tour Honda Thailand (total purse $1.8 million) on home soil.
Thitikul shot a 4-under-par 68 with six birdies and two bogeys in the final fourth round at Siam Country Club Old Course (par 72) in Chonburi, Thailand, on Sunday. She finished at 24-under-par 264, edging out second-place Jiji Iwai of Japan by one stroke. This marks Thitikul's first win since the CME Group Tour Championship in November last year—a three-month gap. It is her eighth career LPGA Tour victory.
Born on February 20, 2003, Thitikul received the $270,000 winner's check (approximately 390 million won) as a belated birthday gift, two days after turning 22. She becomes the third Thai player to win on home turf at this tournament, established in 2006, following Ariya Jutanugarn in 2021 and Patty Tavatanakit in 2024.
Thitikul started the day as the sole leader and shared the top spot with Iwai through the back nine. She secured a one-stroke lead with a birdie on the par-4 17th hole and closed out the victory without a playoff.
Kim Hyo-joo, who began two strokes back in solo second place seeking a come-from-behind win, shaved four strokes off her score to finish in solo third at 22-under-par. Lee So-mi finished in solo fourth at 21-under-par, while Choi Hye-jin tied for eighth at 18-under-par.
