South Korean national team midfielder Lee Kang-in made his first league start since returning from injury, leading his team to a convincing victory.
Paris Saint-Germain defeated FC Metz 3-0 in their Ligue 1 Round 23 home match at Parc des Princes in Paris on Tuesday (local time).
PSG had stumbled after a 1-3 loss to Stade Rennes in Round 22 on January 14, snapping a seven-match winning streak. With this victory, PSG accumulated 54 points (17 wins, 3 draws, 3 losses), overtaking Lens with 52 points (17 wins, 1 draw, 5 losses) to reclaim the top spot in the league standings.
Lee made his first start in five official matches since the new year began. He had suffered a left thigh muscle injury during his start in the 2025 FIFA Intercontinental Cup final against Flamengo (Brazil) in December 2025.
Since then, Lee had appeared only as a substitute in three Ligue 1 matches and one UEFA Champions League match, including his return game against Strasbourg on January 2.
Although Lee did not register any goals or assists, he orchestrated the team's attacks with sharp passing.
PSG seized early control with Désiré Doué's opening goal in the 3rd minute. The lead extended to 2-0 in first-half stoppage time when Gonçalo Ramos converted a scoring opportunity that originated from Lee's corner kick.
Ramos sealed the victory with his second goal in the 77th minute.
Lee played 63 minutes before being substituted for Vitinha in the 63rd minute.
