Son delivered one goal and three assists in LAFC's 6-1 victory over Real España in the first leg of the 2026 CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 32 at Estadio Francisco Morazán in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, on January 18.
LAFC will advance to the Round of 16 with a draw in the second leg at BMO Stadium on January 25. The CONCACAF Champions Cup is the premier continental club competition for North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. The champion earns a berth in the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup.
Son opened his assist tally in the 11th minute, converted a penalty in the 22nd minute, then added consecutive assists in the 24th and 39th minutes to make it 5-0. He produced one goal and three assists in just 28 minutes.
With the North American World Cup approaching in June, Son faces Lionel Messi's Inter Miami in the MLS season opener on January 22.
