High school student Yoo Seung-eun (Seongbok High School) continues her medal pursuit even on Seollal, the Korean Lunar New Year holiday.
Yoo, who won bronze in women's snowboard big air at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, will compete in the women's slopestyle final at Livigno Snow Park in Italy at 9 p.m. Korean time on the 17th.
Having become the first Korean female snowboarder to win an Olympic medal with her bronze in big air on the 10th, Yoo now aims for multiple medals. Slopestyle is an event where athletes navigate a course featuring various obstacles including rails, with rankings determined by technical scores.
Slopestyle shares aerial jump sections similar to big air, leading many athletes to compete in both disciplines. Yoo, whose primary event is big air, finished fifth in slopestyle at the Harbin Asian Winter Games last year.
The 12-athlete final will consist of three runs, with each competitor's best score determining the final standings.
