Kim Si-woo, riding early-season momentum, will compete alongside world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler of the United States in the first and second rounds of the PGA Tour Genesis Invitational, which carries a $20 million purse.
According to pairings released by the PGA Tour on February 17, Kim will play with Scheffler and Xander Schauffele of the United States. Kim's placement with the world's top players reflects his recent performance. In five PGA Tour events this year, Kim has recorded one runner-up finish and one third-place finish among three top-10 results, ranking seventh in FedExCup standings and ninth in prize money.
The tournament runs for four days starting February 19 at Riviera Country Club (par 71) in Los Angeles, California. It is one of eight Signature Events the PGA Tour hosts annually. This marks the second consecutive week of Signature Event play following last week's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Signature Events, with their $20 million purses, rank just below the four major championships and the Players Championship. Only the top 72 ranked players compete in this event.
Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland is grouped with Tommy Fleetwood of England and Collin Morikawa of the United States. Other notable pairings include Chris Gotterup (United States)-Robert MacIntyre (Scotland)-Justin Rose (England) and Hideki Matsuyama (Japan)-Ludvig Åberg (Sweden)-J.J. Spaun (United States).
The tournament, hosted by the Tiger Woods Foundation, was held at Torrey Pines Golf Course last year due to wildfire damage near the venue. It returns to Riviera Country Club this year.
The defending champion is Åberg. Matsuyama won the title in 2024. Scheffler is pursuing his 19th consecutive top-10 finish. Among Korean players, Kim Joo-hyung joins Kim Si-woo in the field as an invited player.
