South Korean national team striker Oh Hyeon-gyu (25) has scored in two consecutive matches since joining Turkish club Besiktas.
Oh recorded one goal and one assist in Besiktas' away match against Basaksehir in the 22nd round of the 2025-2026 Süper Lig at Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey, on January 16 (Korea time), leading his team to a 3-2 comeback victory.
Oh, who left Belgian club Genk to join Besiktas during the winter transfer window, scored an overhead kick on his debut against Alanyaspor on January 9 and found the net again in his second match for the club.
With two goals and one assist for Besiktas, Oh has established himself as a key scorer for the team in just two matches.
Besiktas conceded the opening goal to Davi Selke in the 34th minute of the first half, but Oh equalized nine minutes later to raise hopes of victory.
Oh quickly intercepted the ball after an opposing defender slipped on the ground, then fired a right-footed shot in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper to score. He also contributed an assist for the go-ahead goal in the 59th minute.
Receiving the ball with his back to a defender, Oh delivered an exquisite heel pass into space, which Orkun Kökçü collected and finished with a right-footed shot.
Oh was substituted for Mustafa Hekimoğlu in the 86th minute with his team leading 2-1. Besiktas appeared to have squandered the victory when Bertuğ Yıldırım headed in an equalizer in the 88th minute. However, Hekimoğlu struck a dramatic winner in the 97th minute to secure three valuable points for the team.
Besiktas maintained fifth place among 18 teams with 40 points (11 wins, 7 draws, 4 losses), while Basaksehir sat in sixth place with 33 points.
