Armani, Ralph Lauren, Lululemon: Luxury Brands Dress Olympians at Milano Cortina 2026

The 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, the world's "winter festival" held once every four years, officially opened with a grand ceremony on Friday (local time).

At the spectacular opening ceremony filled with dazzling performances and celebrities, what captured fans' attention were the uniforms worn by athletes from each country.

The most attention went to the uniforms worn by host country Italy's athletes. The Italian delegation appeared in ash-gray jackets and pants designed by renowned Italian designer Giorgio Armani.

These represent the final work of Armani, who passed away in September last year, produced by Emporio Armani EA7, Armani's sports line. The oversized bomber jackets featured Italy's national flag colors—red, green, and white—at the hem as accent details.

Brazil's delegation also wore oversized white padded coats designed by Italian luxury brand Moncler. Alpine skier Lucas Pinheiro Braathen surprised the audience by opening his padded coat to reveal the blue, green, and gold Brazilian flag on the lining.

The U.S. delegation appeared in Ralph Lauren white duffle coats and white pants, accompanied by tasseled hats and mittens.

Ralph Lauren has been producing uniforms for the U.S. Olympic team since 2008.

The Canadian team appeared wearing Lululemon oversized padded jackets as their tops. The design featured maple leaf patterns—Canada's national symbol—in deep red against a black background.

Lululemon plans to unveil disability-friendly uniforms for athletes competing in the Paralympics next month.

The two-member Haitian delegation wore uniforms created by Italian-Haitian designer Stella Jean.

The uniforms, featuring green and blue backgrounds representing tropical rainforests and sky, were accented with a red horse symbolizing Haiti's founding.
