Korea has finalized its 30-man roster for the World Baseball Classic (WBC) in March.
The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced the 2026 WBC national team roster at a press conference held at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul, on Monday.
The roster includes Major League Baseball stars Jung-hoo Lee (San Francisco Giants) and Hye-seong Kim (Los Angeles Dodgers), along with four Korean-American big leaguers. The Korean-American players are infielders Jace Jung (Detroit Tigers) and Shay Whitcomb (Houston Astros), and pitchers Dane Dunning (Seattle Mariners) and Riley O'Brien (St. Louis Cardinals).
The 30-man squad consists of 15 pitchers and 15 position players. By KBO club, LG Twins leads with six players, followed by Hanwha Eagles with five. No players were selected from Lotte Giants or Kiwoom Heroes.
The pitching staff includes four left-handers, including Hyun-jin Ryu (Hanwha Eagles), and 11 right-handers, including Dunning and O'Brien. Seven players currently play in the United States: Lee, Kim, Woo-suk Ko (Detroit Tigers minor league affiliate), and the four Korean-American players.
Korea has been placed in Pool C and will begin group stage play in Tokyo, Japan, on March 5. Korea will compete against Japan, Taiwan, Australia, and the Czech Republic, needing to finish in the top two to advance to the quarterfinal tournament.
